Charlie Mulgrew tips Celtic to win the league on Sky Sports preview

Charlie Mulgrew has backed Celtic to win the Scottish Premiership again under Brendan Rodgers. Both Mulgrew and Lee McCulloch joined Luke Shanley to preview the upcoming Scottish Premiership campaign kicking-off tomorrow.

The Hoops take on Ross County, whilst Kilmarnock face the Ibrox club at home later on the same day. Both games are live on Sky Sports.

Our ex-utility man has recently been released by Dundee United and Sky Sports Scotland wanted to gather his thoughts on the eve of the new season starting. Mulgrew of course won the Scottish Premiership title under Neil Lennon and also helped the club qualify for the Round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League back in 2012/13 season.

With a top-class operator in Rodgers back at the helm, Mulgrew sees no reason why Celtic shouldn’t be looking to come out on top of the rest even with the latest batch of mad spending by the newest Ibrox club. Of course, McCulloch couldn’t help himself and opted for his beloved brand to win the Scottish Premiership this season, arguing that all those new signings will automatically mean success.

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
