Former Celtic star, Charlie Mulgrew reckons two or three new signings can change things around very quickly for the club. It comes in the aftermath of the Bhoys’ bitterly disappointing League Cup defeat to Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Sunday afternoon. Celtic faltered to a 1-0 defeat and really struggled to break a turgid Killie side down.
Many have criticised the manager in the aftermath of the match at the weekend, but Mulgrew has backed Brendan Rodgers to get it right and also asserted the belief that two or three signings of the correct quality can change the landscape at Celtic Park currently. It’s something the club have been crying out for of late; quality signings with the appropriate amount of experience to guide our young talents.
The ex-Dundee United defender was talking on Clyde 1’s Superscoreboard last night with Gordon Duncan and Roger Hannah and has maintained that the reaction is perhaps too much. In response to a Celtic fan who called in clearly irate, Charlie assured him that a sprinkling of quality can see a complete reset, especially if Rodgers gets his own men through the door.
