Latest reports from SkySports indicate that Celtic are holding talks in London with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors technical director, Ji-Sung Park, to discuss the possibility of bringing the south-Korean striker, Cho Gue-Sung to Paradise.
Celtic’s pursuit of the South-Korean striker isn’t without challenge, as other clubs have made their interests known. As Celtic have made a £3 million bid for the striker, the Hoops have already outbid their first competitor, Mainz, who plays in the Bundesliga.
However, the American club, Minnesota United, have also signalled their interest in the south-Korean by reportedly putting more money on the table than Celtic. Unfortunately for Minnesota, Gue-Sung has already expressed his desire to play in Europe, so it is unlikely he will head to America.
As one of Celtic’s current strikers, Giorgos Giakoumakis, is looking likely to exit the club this January, Ange will be keen to strengthen the position by bringing in Gue-Sung. The 24-year-old impressed many by netting 24 goals last season in the K-League. If Ange is successful in bringing Cho Gue-Sung to Celtic, it will mark the Celtic Gaffer’s fourth transfer of the January window.
