I feel the need to comment on this hyperventilating nonsense from Just an Ordinary Bhoy this morning on The Celtic Star concerning the Celtic Board’s efforts to sign players in the summer transfer market.

All good and well. However, a follow-up article should include a list of players we should have signed to add ‘quality’.

What is meant by quality, anyway? And if Celtic is indeed aiming for a higher ‘quality’ that the players recruited last summer, then logically it is going to take more time to get these deals done with players who are more highly regarded in  the game and may have many more attractive options as a result.

Look at the time it is talking to bring in Adam Idah and Paul Bernardo, where it is already common knowledge that both players want to sign of Celtic. Outside of those two, we ar just one of many clubs chasing ‘quality’ signings and many players and their clubs will no doubt be happy to wait to later in the window to secure the best deal possible.

Getting back to the list, it  should include players willing to play in the Scottish Premiership, move to Scotland, players who’d accept the salaries we can afford, without increasing the salaries of  Callum McGregor, Kyogo, Reo Hatate, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Alistair Johnston… et al.

Signing local seemingly quality players like Lennon Miller would be dismissed as ‘projects’ by Just an Ordinary Bhoy and indeed many Celtic supporters.

As to the desperation to sign a left back, did you note the height of Spain’s left back last night?

It’s not as easy as it seems when you stop to actually think about it.  Let’s give Celtic some time before we start jumping to conclusions. They know what has to be done and hopefully, this time, they will deliver, regardless of what is currently happening over at Ibrox.
