Ange Postecoglou flew into Glasgow Airport on a private jet this morning and head straight to Lennoxtown to meet the players and staff as the 55 year old Australian immediately got down to business.

“It’s great to be here,” the new Celtic manager said. “It’s been a tough three weeks to get here but I’m super happy to be here now.

“It’s been a bit of a whirlwind and I knew it wouldn’t sink in that I’m the new Celtic manager until I got here. Now I can get cracking and start working.

“I got to meet everyone and put everything in place that we need to. It’s been fantastic. I already had some familiarity with it but it’s a great set-up. The people here are fantastic and I’m looking forward to working with everyone. Everyone keeps warning me about the weather but it all looks pretty beautiful at the moment.”

Celtic have also arranged a Fan Media Conference at Celtic Park on Friday with both Ange Postecoglou and Dom McKay which The Celtic Star will attend. We have been lobbying Celtic hard for many months for the club to recognise the need for a much better interaction between Celtic and the fan media and this is exactly the type of progress we’ve been looking for.

Relations between the club and the support hit an all-time low last season and a priority for the new CEO is to bridge that divide and bring the support and the club back together again all as part of the Celtic family. We told you at the weekend that McKy had been calling members of the fan media, including The Celtic Star, and how he told us that he planned to “surprise and delight” the Celtic support.

Earlier today we also reported on Neil Lennon’s comments this morning on talkSport where he reckoned that with a few signings to replace the want aways he sees no reason why Ange Postecoglou can’t win the league at the first time of asking.
