According to Anthony Joseph at Sky Sports, Aris FC winger Luis Palma is due to arrive in Glasgow later this week to finalise a £3.5 million move to Celtic.

It’s understood the player is still waiting on clearances to travel to the UK. But it appears that he is now on his way and has boarded a plane from Greece with his destination ultimately being Glasgow. There have been suggestions that his medical will now take place in Dublin as clearance to enter the UK is sought. Ireland of course remains a member of the EU.

Palma is certainly on his way from Greece, as you will see from the image below. The message reads “Our boy is heading to Scottish lands! We wish you much success.”

According to Joseph, the Honduras international should arrive on Wednesday or Thursday to complete his medical and further paperwork required to complete the deal.

However, according to Greek journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos, the deal may not be announced until Thursday or Friday, the latter being the final day of the window.

The 23-year-old missed Aris’s 1-0 defeat at Lamia yesterday, with Aris boss confirming the transfer.

“Luis Palma has been involved in almost every goal we have scored so far this season so of course he will be a big loss. I want to wish him the best of luck with his new club, Celtic.”

Palma will become Celtic’s seventh signing this summer if he joins before the window shuts on Friday, unless of course someone else arrives sooner, with Celtic expected to be busy in the closing days of the transfer window.

It is understood that Celtic will also look to add a left back and a centre half before the clock strikes zero on Friday and there is also increasing speculation about another striker coming in to join Kyogo and Oh at the top of the pitch.
