Contrast between an Aussie and Englishman with two Scotsmen on TV

Australian Ange Postecoglou and Englishman Joe Hart both showing up ‘Scotsmen’ Ally McCoist and Graeme Souness on punditry duties at Euro 2024…

Ange Postecoglou was a welcome addition on the ITV panel for the Euros and he had nothing but positive things to say about the Scottish national side. You could listen to Ange talk football all day and he makes a pleasant change to the bumbling English pundits who make you want to mute the TV.

His passion for the game is brilliant and it helps that he knows what he’s talking about. His passion when talking about the Scottish national side is also a welcome change. Ange was totally genuine in his praise and support for Steve Clarke’s men and it was good to hear his words of encouragement and support.

Ange may be a proud Australian but he’s obviously taken our nation to heart during his three year stay in Glasgow. How refreshing is to hear a pundit talk so positively and passionately about the Scottish side?

The same could be said of Joe Hart who like his former boss is making his punditry debut on rival channel the BBC and looked right at home as he settles into life as a pundit.

Joe a proud Englishman who represented his nation 75 times was as passionate and positive as Ange when talking about Scotland.

Both have showed up ‘Scotsmen’ Ally McCoist and Graeme Souness who have quite frankly been an embarrassment with their attitude towards their home nation.

It’s a sad day when an Englishman and Australian show more pride towards the Scottish national side than two former Scotland internationals.

More of Ange and much more of super Joe please, less of McCoist and give Souness his jotters.

C’mon Scoltand, you can do it!
