Criticism of Liel is totally unjust and unfair…

Liel Abada Celtic, JULY 19, 2023 – Football / Soccer : Friendly match between Yokohama F.Marinos 6-4 Celtic FC at Nissan Stadium in Kanagawa, Japan.

Liel Abada has found himself on the end of some criticism this past few days. This has of course arisen due to the backlash that erupted following the club’s decision to call out the Green Brigade over their well publicised support of the people and nation of Palestine and in particular the banners that were displayed at Celtic Park on Saturday.

The stick aimed at Liel has been voiced from a small percentage of moronic supporters it has to be said, but still, just one critical voice is one too many. Liel Abada has done nothing wrong. His only crime is showing support for his country. He didn’t wish harm on anyone, nor he didn’t criticise the Celtic supporters. The only thing Liel should be judged on is his ability on the football pitch.

We are a club open to all after all and that should be remembered. Liel is a talented young lad who is a valued member of our squad. He deserves better and doesn’t deserve any flak coming his way especially due to something that’s outwith his control. He’s also had some stick from his homeland because he plays for Celtic and those banners were displayed at Celtic Park by the Green Brigade – yet Abada gets the stick from that end too!

If you think he deserves to be criticised just because of where he’s from or who he plays for, you should be ashamed of yourself. Thankfully the overwhelming majority of the Celtic support don’t think this way and will give Liel Abada our full support as indeed the club is doing.

  1. Get rid of the moronic green brigade, they are not real supporters of celtic, bunch of idiots that the club should have dealt with years ago.

  2. Martin Blackshaw on

I’ve heard that GB News slated the Green Brigade yesterday on national television as a group of Marxist anarchists, which is precisely what I’ve been saying for a long time. It is in reality a Red Brigade, a cell of political activists pretending to be Celtic fans. A number of clubs across Europe are infiltrated by similar cells and their business is not to enjoy football!

Celtic is sadly the talk of the globe at the moment, and not for the right reasons. The club’s reputation has gone right down in the eyes of many fair-minded people who saw in those Green Brigade banners the most incredible support for an appalling terrorist crime. Liel Abada is now being urged by an Israeli football player to quit Celtic as a result, and we already know how insulted Nir Bitton is at the actions of the Green Brigade. I can’t help wondering how this might affect Israeli footballing officials who oversee may oversee European Celtic matches in the future.

All eyes are on the Celtic Board now and the world awaits to see what action is taken to rid the Celtic fanbase of this anarchist element. Public statements opposing the banners is insufficient, there must be a serious effort to get this political agitation out of football. It’s a sport which is supposed to be inclusive of all. In the meantime, Celtic are set for a second fine from the European footballing authority for yet another unacceptable use of pyrotechincs and political messaging. How long will the Celtic Board put up with it before they realise that the Celtic brand is going down the toilet very quickly. This disgraceful beahviour is down to a handful of wasters and it’s unfair to the majority of decent Celtic fans, not to mention the clubs Israeli players past and present.
