Daniel Almarty, yes it’s possible but as for Wilfred Ndidi, don’t be daft

Brendan Rodgers hasn’t even got his feet under the table yet and he’s been linked with two of his former Leicester City players. It didn’t take long did it? It’s not surprising really. The players in question are Wilfred Ndidi and Daniel Armarty.

How much truth are there in these rumours? In the case of Armarty, it’s possible that Brendan could make a move for him. He’s a central defender who can also play in the middle of the park. The Ghana international is also available on a free and his wages are not out of our reach, possible? Yes, definitely.

As for Ndidi, think again. The Nigerian midfielder is top quality and with a reported weekly salary of £75k a week plus a full year remaining on his contract it’s unlikely he’ll be heading to Glasgow.

We’re talking about a price tag of around £20 million and Celtic aren’t blowing that sort of cash on a single player. As much as I’d like to see him in the Hoops, it’s unrealistic, it’s a complete non-starter.

So while a move for Almarty has some substance to it, any talks of a move for Ndidi will be well wide of the mark and can instantly be knocked on the head. I stand to be corrected, but I doubt it very much.
