Medical knowledge and technology has advanced to the point where where most players will successfully come back from injuries, but it’s not an exact science.
There is also the fear that the player might suffer mentally from an injury or their athletic ability might be reduced, so it’s understandably that Celtic might be nervous about David Turnbull.
Football Insider reported on the latest with their interest, after confirming that a £3m move fell through last season after he failed his medical.
They report that Celtic are still very interested in making another move for him, but they might wait a few months to see him in action and to see if the injury has impacted his ability at all.

They also indicate that any future offer wont be as high as the £3m one last summer, due to the financial impact from the Coronavirus shutdown and the injury will impact his value too.
It’s also worth noting that they do say he signed an extension with Motherwell earlier this year, but that was purely to maintain his transfer value and it won’t stop him from joining Celtic.
He looked like an incredible talent in his breakthrough season at Fir Park and it would be interesting to see him make the move if he can prove his fitness, but it might be wise for Celtic to wait until January at least so they can be sure he’s fit and in case the injury flares up again.
