Celtic may have wrapped up the title last Sunday at Tynecastle but Ange Postecoglou’s side are still chasing that elusive points record set by Brendan Rodgers’ Invincibles but the Celtic manager could use the final league games of the season to give some exciting fringe players a chance to shine.

With Celtic’s 2-0 victory against Hearts securing the title, attention turns to the remaining league games including a trip to Ibrox in the build up to the Scottish Cup final on Saturday 3 June.

With players such as Liel Abada returning from injury and providing a bright spark off the bench on Sunday, it remains to be seen whether Ange Postecoglou will use these final league games to give younger players such as Abada, Vata, Summers and Oh opportunities or will he stick with his tried and trusted XI and look to receive further plaudits.

Rocco Vata has impressed whenever he has featured for Celtic and the Irishman is unfortunate to not have picked up a goal or assist up to this point. Ben Summers is another highly rated prospect and has excelled for the B team this season.

Recent history of Celtic losing their most prized youth prospects such as Barry Hepburn to Bayern Munich and Ben Doak to Liverpool may have pushed Ange to give excting prospects such as Summers and Vata minutes. In particular, Vata has been linked with top European clubs such as Borussia Dortmund in recent times and would benefit from further playing time in the final games of the season.

Both Celtic B team stars will have impressed Ange Postecoglou in the Glasgow Cup Final win over theRangers at Ibrox last night, with the Celtic manager watching from the Main Stand alongside the Celtic Chairman Peter Lawwell and the Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson.

The more likely to feature in these final league games would be Liel Abada and Hyeon-gyu Oh with the latter adding his fourth goal in a hoops shirt on Sunday.

With both Celtic wingers struggling on Sunday against Hearts, it will be interesting to see whether Ange brings in fresh faces such as Hakšabanović, Vata or Abada for the trip to Ibrox. Hakšabanović has struggled when thrusted into the starting lineup and it remains to be seen whether he is as competent as Jota on the right wing. Curiously he always seems to impress when coming off the bench.

Kyogo coming off with a knock at Tynecastle means a first start for Oh in the Glasgow Derby could be on the cards too.

Regardless of team selection, Celtic go into the upcoming derby as confident and strong as a Celtic side has been this season.
