Rosenborg’s Europa League preparations have been plunged into chaos due to Storm Ali, that is currently battering Britain and Ireland.

The Norwegian champions have been forced to cancel their travel plans to Glasgow due to the high winds that have forced the Met Office to issue an amber warning.

Raman Bhardwaj, @STVRaman, confirmed that Rosenborg hope to travel later today after the delay.

Celtic host Rosenborg in the first of their Europa League matches this term; however it will be the fifth time in two years that the teams meet – having played in Champions League qualifiers both this year and last year.

The Norwegians are also due to travel without Danish target man Nicklas Bendtner – who has failed to recover from a thigh injury.

Meanwhile Rangers departed for Spain and have probably been experiencing plenty of turbulence – nothing new there then. A few of them are likely to turn a green colour by the time they arrive. Wee shame…
