Glasgow Derby day is here. The pressure is all on Celtic despite what you may hear. We must handle it in the correct manner…

Today is Glasgow Derby day. The biggest game of our season so far and like each and every one of these games it’s a must win. The pressure is all on Celtic. A capacity crowd exclusively of Celtic supporters. We are the Champions, we are the better side and ultimately the favourites to win.

The Rangers have no pressures whatsoever on them as they aren’t expected to get anything from the game, and that could actually work in their favour as we know how well they do handle the pressure when it’s turned up a notch, and that should heed as a warning to the Celtic players and supporters not to get too confident.

If we play to the best of our abilities then we will win, of that I have no doubt, but these games are rarely straight forward and with John Beaton as referee and Andrew Dallas in the VAR room one moment of ‘incompetence’ could take matters outwith our control.

We’ve got to be up for this game from the word go, both ability wise and commitment wise. With the entire stadium behind us, and the way we’ve been playing recently I’m confident we will be successful in our pursuit of the three points. We just can’t be complacent.

I expect Brendan to have a few of the new signings on the bench today but not in the starting eleven. I reckon the Celtic team will be Schmeichel, Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Scales and Taylor; McGregor (c), Bernardo and Hatate; Forrest, Kyogo and Maeda.

The two questions marks are in central defence and in particular CCV, Brendan said he’s fine and was having a rest day of Friday. Hopefully that is the case and Celtic’s Big Strong Man is fit to start. The other position is in the right wing where Nicolas Kuhn might get the nod ahead of James Forrest.
