Dundee have taken former Aberdeen and Kilmarnock goalkeeper Danny Rogers on trial as they look to add competition for No.1 Adam Legzdins. James McPake’s side had been linked with a move for Celtic’s Conor Hazard; however, the links have cooled with Dundee looking elsewhere.

Hazard wants game time and with Celtic looking at bringing another goalkeeper in, a move to Dens Park had been suggested and given that Hazard spent some time on-loan back in 2019/20, it was expected that it would go through. However, Hazard has been in Wales with Celtic but is yet to feature in either of the two friendlies with Bain & Barkas ahead of him in Postecoglou’s estimations, it would seem.

The player has been awarded a new deal by Celtic but the taste of first team football and games for N. Ireland may have whet his appetite to play regular games. Dundee would have been a perfect platform for Hazard to prove that he can do it for Celtic and N. Ireland in the future.

The 23-year-old was involved in a three-way struggle for the Celtic goalkeeping jersey as neither Vasilis Barkas nor Scott Bain impressed. Ange Postecoglou will likely look to get Hazard and other promising ‘keeper Ross Doohan game time via a spell away from the club as he looks to shore up the goalkeeping position by making Barkas the No.1 moving forward.
