Dundee United have confirmed that they plan to honour the life of legendary Scottish manager Jim McLean in the Wednesday afternoon clash against Celtic at Parkhead. The Tannadice outfit are in mourning after the loss of a club legend, who passed away on Saturday. Now, the Scottish Champions will also show their respect by observing a minute silence as well as wearing black armbands to honour McLean.
In a statement on the United website, they confirmed that the players and the management would pay tribute to McLean in this way.
McLean worked as Assistant Manager to the great Jock Stein for four years. McLean won the League as well as two League Cups. McLean took United to the semi-finals of the European Cup as well as the Final of the UEFA Cup, he was highly regarded in the Scottish game and was synonymous with Dundee United.
