Odsonne Edouard has been named in the French U21s starting XI for their must-win match against Iceland. The 23-year-old Celtic striker knows that a win will secure their progression from the group stages of the U21 Euros. The £9m signing from PSG in 2018 has been linked with a move away in the summer but his success with the national side may help benefit Celtic both on the pitch and financially as the 2020/21 campaign comes to an end.

The French youth side are favourites for the tournament but slipped up in their first game with a shock defeat to Denmark. A win over Iceland will seal their progression through to the next stage as Edouard and his French teammates look to win the U21s competition.

With 16 goals in 12 games, Edouard has an incredible goalscoring record with Espoirs. The Celtic talisman is one of Europe’s hottest talents and the performances with the national side will surely catapult him into the eyes of both Didier Deschamps with the World Champions but also potential suitors in the summer.

A run of form will be a bonus to Celtic not only from a financial state but they will hope that their star man will help bring Celtic the Scottish Cup. The club are approaching an overhaul in the summer and Edouard is set to depart but it would be a fitting send off for the striker, amongst others, to leave with a trophy.
