Everyone please sing Grace loud and proud

Sing Grace loud and proud…

The North Curve today, as The Celtic Star reported earlier,  asked everyone who is attending tomorrow’s game to join in a rousing pre match rendition of Grace in support of the oppressed people of Palestine, at the start of the Scottish Premiership match against Kilmarnock at Celtic Park.

As the Green Brigade said in their statement: “ Grace is a song of love, hope, loss, pain, steadfastness, resistance and freedom.”

They are spot on. It’s a very meaningful, heart warming song, and one that hits close to home. That is what our club is all about. We were formed to help such poor souls after all. That’s why it’s only right we show our solidarity to the victims of the shocking genocide which is unfurling in front of the watching world at this very moment.

They need a voice when most are shunning them, and it’s our moral duty to show them our undoubted support.

It’s not an act of ‘anti-semitism’, neither is it ‘political’ to show our support to such a cause, despite what some would have you believe. It’s the right thing to do. It shows compassion to those who are currently the victims of a barbaric crime all justified by those in power. It’s a crime against humanity.

We as a support have an obligation to our forefathers  to give a voice to those who need it most and tomorrow we will show just that. Sing Grace loud, and sing it proud, better than it’s ever been sung before.

Here’s the Celtic support singing Grace at Hampden…

About Author

An ordinary everyday Celtic supporters hailing and still residing in Govan in the shadows of the enemy. I’m a season ticket holder. I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.

  1. Please don’t taint a TRUE CATHOLIC IRISH rebel’s song. These men would never support islam and would never support hamas who have cut the heads off babies and raped before killing. I used to respect our following, including the GB, but they’ve dropped the ball here (and on a less serious note have forced Abada out of the club). None of the GB will ever truly understand what is going on in the Middle-East unless they were born there and lived there. Yes there is injustice, and human rights abuses for many years, but that is not for the men of ’16. I’ve never been so disgusted and angry with the purple-haired liberal celtic fans since their support for the vax-discrimination of the pandemic and then this israel hamas distant war. Thanks for the cool motifs GB, but this went way too far. Celtic has become TOO FAR LEFTIST.

  2. Let’s hope that when “Grace” is sung it is not in support of HAMAS —A fanatical band of indiscriminate Islamic savages . Let’s hope the song is sung in support of innocent Palestinian people who are being punished ” En mass ” by the State of Israel for crimes perpetrated by HAMAS .
Unfortunately few of those who will be singing Grace will know little of Grace Gifford and even less about Joseph Mary Plunkett . If the singing is in commemoration of an Irish Catholic rebellion to free itself from British brutality and anti-Catholicism , then well and good . If it is to condemn ISRAEL for doing to innocent Palestinians what the NAZIS did to them , in the “Death Camps” during World War 2 , again well and good . If the Green Brigade feel so strongly about the situation in the Middle-East they would probably be better writing to their MP / MSP asking WHY this government , and all Western governments, with the exception of SNP , are failing to denounce the Mass Punishment , ” Genocide ” and War Crimes which are being inflicted on innocent Palestinian people , at this very moment .
I totally agree with much of what MICKO F states —-Well done , Sir .
