Scott Allan has discussed battling with Scott Brown in the centre of the park despite growing to be good friends due to their time at Parkhead together.

The 27-year-old moved to Hibs at the conclusion of his Celtic contract after failing to impress under Ronny Deila and Brendan Rodgers. Allan spoke to PLZ Soccer, as reported in The Scottish Sun about Brown, the Cup Semi and Ryan Porteous’ Scotland future.

“Obviously I’ve got a good relationship with Scott away from the park.

“We didn’t say a word to each other the whole game to be fair, and then after it, it was all back to normal. But I enjoyed it.”

Ironically, Allan signed a pre-contract with Hibs when Neil Lennon was the manager at Easter Road – a few weeks later, Lennon was in the Celtic dugout following Rodgers’ departure.

Allan wants to take his performance in the 1-1 draw at Easter Road and perform when the sides meet in the Betfred Cup Semi-Final at the start of November.

“For us it’s a free hit. We’ve just got to go out there and give it everything and try and get to a final for the fans.

“We take the positives from the game last week, we made it hard for Celtic.”

Since the draw at Easter Road, Paul Heckingbottom’s side took a point off Aberdeen at Pittodrie and will be hoping to put a string of performances together ahead of the trip to Hampden.
