A prominent social media account today claimed that the Green Brigade have had their season tickets cancelled and are now effectively banned from Celtic Park, together with now having no access to away tickets for forthcoming away matches against Hearts and Hibs in the Scottish Premiership.

While we are unsure where the poster got this information from, The Celtic Star can confirm this evening that after speaking to a senior source at Celtic Park, this is NOT the case and the Green Brigade’s tickets have NOT been cancelled and barring any unforeseen circumstances they will be in their usual North Curve section for the game against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday evening.

Anyone who has followed our reporting on stories in and around Celtic will know that they have been 100% accurate.

We reported recently on Celtic’s revelation that theRangers had accepted that the away section at Ibrox was unsafe after numerous incidents of Celtic supporters being hit by missiles thrown from their home support. We told you that theRangers planned to install nets – essentially to keep the animals outside of the cage – but were unable to do so in time for the match at the start of September, which Celtic (reserves) won thanks to a brilliant strike from Kyogo.

That was the reason Celtic refused tickets for that game. They were aware that the hosts themselves deemed their away section to be unsafe and Celtic could not sell tickets to our supporters in those circumstances/

The day after The Celtic Star reported on this story, the Scottish Sun published it as their own exclusive. Go figure!

So essentially the story that The Green Brigade is banned is NOT correct and that’s from the horse’s mouth.
