Fabrizio Romano has burst Celtic’s bubble with an update on Kieran Tierney. The Italian transfer specialist only seems to give the Scottish Champions bad news and today it was no different as he branded Tierney’s move to Real Sociedad as done.
Taking to Twitter/X, Romano used his catchphrase of ‘Here We Go’ to announce that a verbal agreement was in place but that the La Liga team would be picking up the wages.
Kieran Tierney to Real Sociedad, here we go! Verbal agreement in place with Arsenal on loan deal — no buy option clause 🚨⚪️🔵 #AFC
Tierney has accepted, medical being scheduled after clubs exchange all documents.

Celtic had been linked with the player given their obvious connection to the 26-year-old, who made over 250 appearances for the club, but the Basque side have secured a deal as they look to strengthen for the UEFA Champions League Group Stages.
The Scotland Internationalist will be desperate to leave The Emirates as it appears to be nearing a stage of toxicity. The player has been frozen out by Arteta at Arsenal and the Gunners manager has shown little warmth towards the player and his exit seemed inevitable. Sporting Director Edu wanted a sizeable buy clause inserted, which would likely have ruled Celtic out of contention, but it appears that the Gunners have settled to the player’s £100k-per-week wages being covered.
It appears that we will need to wait a little longer for KT’s Celtic return.
Why wait for an injury prone player to come back to Celtic? I don’t think he would fancy playing on pitches like Kilmarnock’s.If he loves Celtic he would be insisting that he would be going to Parkhead on loan but once money is involved?
So, anyone else willing to bet we get drawn against Sociedad in the groups then?
That said, due entirely to KTs own injury record I had serious doubts about bringing him back to assist with a deepening injury crisis anyway.
