Fabrizio Romano confirms Arsenal stance on Celtic target Kieran Tierney

Fabrizio Romano has issued an update in the Kieran Tierney transfer saga by stating that Arsenal are keen on a permanent deal, with a La Liga side interested.

Taking to Twitter, Romano stated that Real Sociedad are keen on a loan move for the 26-year-old as they look to bolster their squad for the Champions League.

Sociedad are keen on a loan deal whilst Arsenal want a permanent deal. There could certainly be scope for Celtic to nip in, strike a deal and bring the boyhood Celtic fan back to Glasgow.

Arteta has made his feelings clear on Tierney, Zinchenko, Tomiyasu and Timber have been used instead of him and his future lies elsewhere.

The defender made over 250 appearances for Celtic and the Scottish Champions could certainly be a potential destination for Tierney.

Brendan Rodgers has a good relationship with Tierney but refused to answer questions on hypotheticals with regards to a return for the player. The Irishman was asked about a potential deal and said, ‘I don’t deal with what ifs’. Celtic would likely be interested in the player but a high transfer fee is unlikely to be paid but a return would certainly be marquee.
