Fabrizio Romano confirms Celtic to sign Barcelona starlet on loan

Celtic are set to sign Barcelona starlet Alex Valle on a loan deal. The 20-year-old will arrive as defensive cover for the left back position and the Spanish youngster will compete with Greg Taylor in that role.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano on Twitter/X, Valle has agreed a new two year contract with Barca before a deal was sorted to bring the fullback to Celtic.

Hansi Flick will see Celtic as an ideal place for Valle to develop. Moreover, given the La Liga contract rules, Celtic will know the fee that they will need to pay to buy the attacking fullback. It has been reported that this is just €2.5m.

The player spent last season on loan with Levante in the Spanish second division and will look to impress with the Scottish Champions. The left back role was one that Brendan wanted to strengthen in and if this deal gets over the line, attention will turn to improving other areas. The manager will want to add a striker, a winger, two centre midfielders and a left sided central defender before the window shuts.

  1. Kid looks good (on youtube clips 🤷🏻‍♂️😂). VERY similar tae Hickey, as can play LB & RB, but left footed.
Barca fans no happy he’s no stayin in their 1st team squad, so that’s a gid sign.
Been with la Masia academy since 2014 .. THAT’s a great thing!
Dinnae think there’s a buy clause, not a gid thing, BUT it is a sign of how highly Barca must think of him.

  2. As Brendan has already said, Celtic fans paid up to support the club by buying the season books during the COVID season even though they could not enter the stadium. This got the club out of a problem.
It is now time the Board reciprocated our support and got in the players we need for THIS SEASON. We NEVER let the Club down, now it is time for the Board to avoid letting us down.
