Fabrizio Romano on Lagerbielke and Fraser plus worrying update on outgoings

Fabrizio Romano has given an update in regard the deals to bring Gustaf Lagerbielke and Ryan Fraser to Celtic Park. The transfer expert is usually on the money with his appraisal’s of situations in the footballing world when it comes to player movement – and he likes to dish out his fair share of bad news to Celtic supporters too!

The Italian journalist has revealed that two deals could be advancing in the next few days at Parkhead. One is the signing of Swedish central defender, Gustaf Lagerbielke, who we all assumed would be singing on the dotted line anyway after several reports he would sign and Brendan Rodgers also saying he expected movement on Starfelt’s replacement this week.

That is not the only deal he is expecting to see happen though. According to Romano, Celtic will indeed be looking to make an offer for Newcastle United’s forgotten man, Ryan Fraser. The 29-year-old Scotland international has been out in the cold down at St James’ Park and he could be offered a way out by the Scottish club.

Romano spoke to GiveMeSport and asserted the belief that both Lagerbielke and Fraser could be on their way to Glasgow in the next few days. However, staying true to form, he also caveated that by saying that there is interest in our players too. One is mindful of Reo Hatate and Kyogo Furuhashi in this instance, as both men may very well be attracting interest from teams down south and further afield.

Speaking to the media outlet, Fabrizio Romano said:

“Yeah, it’s a work in progress in that aspect. I expect both deals to advance in the next days as there are conversations ongoing. So the idea is to advance, and we have to see what’s going to happen next there because there is interest also in their players.”

It’s starting to look like it could be a frantic finale to the transfer window during this next two or so weeks…

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.

  1. William Melvin on

He (Brendan) better get his finger oot his arse, then.
Seems like we are back to the bad old day of pre Ange with regard to incoming transfers.
Also,if he, Brendan or anyone else cannot see with their own eyes what is happening on the pitch then they shouldn’t be in their respective jobs.
The Sacred Hart was one lucky Bhoy on Sunday that the Aberdeen player had run offside prior to Joe halting him in his tracks.
Otherwise, he was off, straight red card and we are right under the cosh for the remainder of the game.
    BUY A FUCKIN KEEPER !!!

  2. Last night the buns took a step nearer to European riches while we dither about ,giving chances to some who’ve already had enough chances. Let Fraser stay where he is and buy a keeper. We were supposed to be improving the team for an improvement in Europe. Players who are much the same as players we already have are being bought with no improvement of the starting 11. Brendan has his favourites and doesn’t seem to have realised time has moved on. Buy a keeper for goodness sake.
