Fabrizio Romano has stated that Fenerbahce are closing in on a deal to sign reported Celtic target Dominik Livakovic.

Taking to Twitter/X, the transfer specialist said that a deal could be completed within 24 hours with the player to travel to Turkey to complete a medical.

The Croatian goalkeeper was on the losing side as Dinamo Zagreb exited the Champions League at the hands of AEK Athens and now it appears that he will move to Turkey.

The 28-year-old has a year remaining on his deal and Celtic has been cited as interested in bringing him to Paradise.

The Turkish Giants had agreed an £8m deal with the Croatian Internationalist; however, personal terms were not agreed, which has sparked hopes that Celtic could hijack the deal.

Joe Hart has received some unjust criticism in relation to his displays and it had been expected that Celtic would strengthen in the window significantly. As it has turned out due to injuries, the team are requiring replacements from across the squad rather than just in between the nets.

Livakovic is a potential missed opportunity, especially with the £8m price tag.
