Feyenoord agree deal to sign reported Celtic target

Feyenoord have agreed on the loan signing of Hugo Bueno from Wolves. Celtic had enquired about the status of the 21-year-old, however, no deal was forthcoming.

The Scottish Champions are in the market for a left back to compete with Greg Taylor as Brendan Rodgers looks to compete on all fronts.

Now, the Dutch side have confirmed the signing of the Spaniard – as per Anthony Joseph on Twitter/X.

It is believed that the clubs had held discussions but Wolves made it clear that they weren’t convinced to allow Bueno to leave the club on a temporary basis unless they were given game time guarantees.

Celtic are in the market for a second left back to compete with Taylor but the update means that the club will likely have to look elsewhere.

It makes sense that the club are not keen on taking a player that they would have no realistic option to buy on. Bueno is highly rated by Wolves and they’ll be keen to ensure that he’s on a trajectory that suits them rather than the loan club.

  1. With us making an initial loan enquiry regarding the LB position, starting to look like it’s possibly the solution to the problem we find ourselves currently in regarding the position imo?
Time has gone against us, especially with the Taylor contract situation still unresolved?
A loan deal wouldn’t be to much different than a permanent deal, in regards the player involved, would potentially be looking at what role a manager has in mind for himself?
With ralston as our main sub within an SPFL match day squad, with been able to cover both full backs positions?
Then possibly Rodgers could be looking at Taylor and deciding whether he should remain as 1st choice in the LB position?
Which in turn is going to potentially effect his contract negotiations also?
Doesn’t look like getting resolved before the close of the window, so a loan deal for a player remains the favourite solution for the LB position within a 25man squad imo?
Who that potential player remains anyone’s guess at present, when the circumstances existing where the current situation is imo?
Somehow don’t see Taylor wanting to stay with ourselves, if he isn’t given the 1st choice LB position ?
Wouldn’t say Rodgers could give such a guarantee either at present to Taylor imo?
Hence the delays within contract negotiations?
However, the position still needs to be resolved before the close of the window, but possibly not going to be as simple as a solution that many are thinking it is at present imo?
