CELTIC striker Albian Ajeti looks set to return in time for the Glasgow Derby match versus Rangers on October 17. The Swiss striker was forced from the field with a hamstring complaint in the 3-0 win over Hibs but Neil Lennon confirmed that he could be fit to make a return.

As reported by The Daily Record, Lennon said that Ajeti would be back training at the end of this week, which is a huge boost ahead of the game against Steven Gerrard’s side.

“Albian is feeling good. I spoke to him Tuesday morning when he came in to do some running and I hope he’ll join us again for training at the end of this week or the start of next week.”

Since joining Celtic for £4.5m from West Ham, Ajeti has rejuvenated his stalling career. The attacker has scored six goals since joining the club and the management would have been excited at the prospect of pairing him with Odsonne Edouard in attack. Although the injury was a blow, it is hopeful to see that the player expects himself to be fit.

Now, with Odsonne Edouard potentially missing the clash due to a positive Coronavirus test this is a huge boost for Neil Lennon. Celtic can go top with a win, having a game in hand of Rangers.
