Former Celtic midfielder Scott Allan has announced his retirement. The news comes after Allan was confirmed as a member of Mick Kennedy’s coaching staff at SPFL League Two side East Kilbride.

Despite not being a standout player for Celtic, Allan had a good career but his health issues probably curtailed his career early.
Allan began his youth career at Dundee United, where he progressed through the ranks and made his senior debut in 2010. Despite showing talent, contract disputes led to him leaving the club in 2012. He signed for English Premier League side West Bromwich Albion but never made a first-team appearance, instead going on loan to Portsmouth, MK Dons, and Birmingham City to gain experience.
In 2014, Allan signed with Hibernian, where he enjoyed a breakout season, winning the 2014–15 PFA Scotland Championship Player of the Year award. His performances earned him a move to Celtic in 2015 after a transfer saga between Hibs and Rangers.
Allan was signed by Ronny Deila from Hibs but only made 17 appearances for Celtic in his time at the club.
