Former Celtic recruitment chief John Park is set to move to Blackburn Rovers. Park crossed the rubicon and worked for Rangers last year before joining Birmingham City, where he linked up with Tony Mowbray.

As per Record Sport, Park has moved on from Birmingham after their relegation but has made a quick fire return to football with the Ewood Park side taking in the experienced scout.

Park was an integral part of Celtic’s recruitment operations under Neil Lennon, working to help bring players like Virgil Van Dijk and Victor Wanyama to Celtic. There are a number of fine players that came in under his spell but, on the other hand, there are some poor acquisitions that need to be left at Park’s door.

Park joined the Ibrox club in July 2022 with Ross Wilson and Giovanni van Bronkhorst in situ. However, after the pair left, Park was heavily involved in supporting Michael Beale’s flawed recruitment during the summer which saw the Englishman lose his job.

Park previously also held roles at Motherwell, Hibs, Dundee United, Blackburn Rovers, Vancouver Whitecaps, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Legia Warsaw.
