EX-HIBS midfielder Tam McManus has claimed that 33-year-old Steven Fletcher is very keen on a move to Celtic. Back in 2009, Gordon Strachan was interested in bringing the Scotland Internationalist to Celtic but talks stalled allowing the target man to join Burnley for just over £3m.
Now, eleven years later McManus claims that Flecther wants a move to the Scottish Champions to act as a replacement for Odsonne Edouard. The Hibs TV commentator says that he has it on good authority that Fletcher, who recently moved back to Scotland following the end of his contract at Sheffield Wednesday, would like a move and that wages wouldn’t be an issue.
Have it on good authority that Steven Fletcher is very keen on a move to Celtic. Just moved back up here and bought a place in Glasgow. 33 but great pro/fit as a fiddle. Available on a free. Wages wouldn’t be an issue. Surely would do job at Parkhead even as cover for Edouard?

Fletcher has had an impressive season in the English Championship but left Sheffield Wednesday following the expiry of his deal. In 31 starts, the veteran bagged 13 goals and 2 assists.
Having been linked with Shon Weissman, a move for Fletcher would be massively underwhelming but it is an area in which Celtic can strengthen with Leigh Griffiths’ future in the air. Celtic have only signed one player this transfer window and the lack of movement is a cause of concern ahead of the season opener next weekend versus Hamilton Accies.
