Four huge games across three competitions in ten days for Celtic

What an incredible schedule of matches Elena Sadiku’s side has coming after that 4-0 win yesterday got the Ghirls off to a winning start. The game in hand against Queen’s Park this Wednesday then from Sunday ten season defining games across three competitions against our two main rivals and home and away games against English Champions  Chelsea in the Champions League.

All five of the sides in contention at the top of the SWPL1 won at the weekend with some big scorelines being recorded as the focus returned to club football after the international break that saw Scotland take care of Hungary with two impressive performances that earned them a date with Finland to decide which nation will go through to next summer’s Euros. Scotland will fancy their chances after that brilliant performance at Easter Road.

theRangers hit double figures in their 10-2 home win over Montrose, while Hearts defeated Dundee Utd 9-0 and Hibs made it an all round horrible weekend for Aberdeen, beating their women’s side 7-1 up at the Balmoral stadium after Jimmy Thelin’s team were thrashed 6-0 at Hampden in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final the day before.

Glasgow City and Celtic had slightly tougher opponents with the leaders beating Partick Thistle 3-0 while the Champions went one better with a 4-0 away to Motherwell at K-Park in East Kilbride.

In the other game Spartans could only draw 1-1 against Queens Park who Celtic take on this Wednesday night at New Douglas Park in Elena Sadiku’s side’s game in hand. It is a must win for Celtic and that match kicks -off at 7.15pm.

Meanwhile in the Scottish Cup draw made earlier this evening Celtic have been drawn away to Glasgow Girls and Women FC with that match currently scheduled for Sunday 8 December.

The fixture list for Celtic FC Women is something to behold over the next batch of matches.

After Queen’s Park on Wednesday, Celtic play host to Glasgow City in the Sky Sports League Cup this coming Sunday again at New Douglas Park (kick-off 4.10pm).

Then next Wednesday night Elena Sadiku’s side take on English Champions Chelsea at Celtic Park in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. (Wednesday 13 November, kick-off 8pm).  After that it’s a Glasgow Derby back at New Douglas Park against theRangers on Sunday 17 November before the Ghirls are in London on Wednesday 20 November for the return leg against Chelsea in the Champions League at Stamford Bridge.

That’s an incredibly tough run of games but before that the Celtic manager will be looking for the three points in the game in hand against Queen’s Park to take us up to 29 points on Wednesday night.
