ODSONNE EDOUARD has recovered from the shocking, reckless challenge by Aberdeen’s Scott McKenna at the weekend and should be available for selection tomorrow evening in Austria.
That’s the good news from Kieran Tierney, who yesterday provided the update on ‘French Eddie’.
“Odsonne is back in training and is fine,” KT said at the launch of Celtic’s new DVD yesterday.
“Everybody saw the tackle. You can’t say too much about it – you just hope something like that doesn’t happen to you. You continue to challenge in a fair manner and hope nothing bad happens.
“Odsonne got lucky because his foot hadn’t been planted. It looked a really sore one at the time though so to have him back on the training ground is great for us.
“I saw the photo Odsonne put on social media and Broony’s comment underneath it.”
KT didn’t want to attach too much blame onto McKenna – who could have been playing for Celtic in the match, had the bid towards the end of the transfer window been accepted by the Aberdeen board. “He probably never meant to do it, anyone can mistime a challenge.”
Meanwhile Celtic have written to the SPFL after news broke yesterday afternoon – see HERE – that the previously announced League Cup semi-final plans may be altered with the Celtic v Hearts game being named as the game that would move from Hampden to Murrayfield.
Celtic, correctly, insist that IF a tie is to be moved to Murrayfield, then the two ties should be drawn from a hat to decide – it is only fair.
Throughout this debacle the SPFL have been careful to give one club everything that they want and we all know which club that is. Clue – Charles Green is its Founding Father.
