Genk keen on £3.5m deal for Celtic striker

Genk are reportedly keen to sign Celtic striker Oh on a permanent basis. The Belgian side have reportedly made the 23-year-old a priority signing this summer as they look to bolster their front line by bringing the Celtic attacker to Belgium.

According to Record Sport’s Scott Burns, Genk are willing to pay £3.5m meaning that Celtic could net a profit on the striker. The deal would also include add-ons to sweeten the deal for Celtic.

The report says that Oh is keen on the deal as he has fallen out of favour under Brendan Rodgers at Celtic. The striker scored 5 goals in 26 appearances for Celtic this season but struggled to really impress when given opportunities.

Celtic may fancy a loan deal rather than committing to selling the player as it is clear that the player has a lot of attributes that would make him an attractive prospect. However, the club may equally prefer using the cash to sign Idah and maybe mounting a move for Bristol City’s Tommy Conway, as has been suggested.

Celtic will look to add Adam Idah on a permanent basis after the Irishman impressed in the second half of last season. The striker provided good competition for Kyogo with the manager keen on retaining the pair for next season.
