Saturday’s victory over theRangers has rejuvenated us, but we are still in need of further quality…

Happy New Year to one and all, I hope 2024 brings you heath and happiness. As Celtic supporters we all brought in the bells with a huge smile on our faces thanks to winning the Glasgow Derby on Saturday. It was the perfect end to the year.

But that’s in the past now and we must look forward. The month of December was a very a difficult one for us all, football speaking. We lost two games on the bounce and were pegged back in the title race.

Tensions were high and there was an ugly atmosphere at home games as the supporters vented their frustration at those off the pitch as opposed to on it. That tension hasn’t disappeared, far from it. Winning the Glasgow Derby has maybe papered over the cracks a little, but it still remains, don’t kid yourself on that it’s evaporated completely.

I like many supporters still believe we need a change of direction in the boardroom. That hasn’t changed because of a few results. This transfer window is going to a vital one for the hierarchy. They need to back the manager with the resources he needs to add the quality he craves. It must be done, anything less will not be tolerated.

We need at least three quality first team ready players brought in this window. That is a must. Brendan can lead us to glory like he’s done before, but he needs the tools to do his job. His demands must be met this month. If he’s left disappointed then the board better strap themselves in as tensions will escalate even further.
