Good luck to Scotland and our four bhoys in the squad…

Celtic v theRangers – Scottish Cup – Final – Hampden – Anthony Ralston, James Forrest, Callum McGregor and Greg Taylor celebrate with the trophy. Saturday May 25, 2024. Andrew Milligan

Tonight is the opening game of Euro 2024 in Munich and the eyes of the world will be on Scotland who take on the hosts Germany in their own backyard.

It will be a tough task but one I’m sure Steve Clarke will have the players well prepared for. Four Celtic players form a part of Clark’s squad as we aim to reach the knock out stages of a major competition for the first time ever.

Callum McGregor, Greg Taylor, James Forrest and Anthony Ralston are the Bhoys who form a part of Clark’s 26 man squad who aim to make history and there are many other former Celts in the squad too including the likes of Kieran Tierney, Stuart Armstrong, Ryan Christie and Jack Hendry.

Realistically only Callum McGregor and Anthony Ralston will line up in the starting XI tonight, but they are two players who can have a massive say in the way the game pans out. James Forrest however could play his part from the bench with his experience and ability on the big stage as could Greg Taylor if he is also called upon.

Let’s hope we can get a decent result to kick off the tournament in style. It will be difficult but not impossible. Mon the Scotland and the best of luck to all our Bhoys, both present and past and maybe future too.  Think we’d all settle for a point a piece this evening, even a boring 0-0.

Enjoy the game everyone, especially the Celts who are over in Munich, including Lubo98 of this parish.

PS happy birthday to our captain Callum McGregor who turns 31 today!
