“Good winger with the ball,” Giannis Chorianopoulos gives his take on Celtic target

At last, Celtic have made some sort of movement on the transfer front and it’s not before time, as I think we were all beginning to get a bit weary from waiting for a scrap of a rumour. The result at the weekend was bitterly disappointing and losing our grip on the League Cup, we’ve needed a bit of a pick-me-up.

The latest name in the Parkhead frame is none other than Luis Palma, who had been tracked by the Ibrox club this summer, although that interest never came to anything concrete and now the Hoops have made their move. The Aris Thessaloniki attacker is the left-winger we’ve been hunting for it would seem, and he seems to be very highly rated in the Greek Super League.

23-year-old Palma contributed to 20 plus goals last season for the Greek outfit and so far this term, he’s managed to pull his eight so far too, with two goals and three assists so far in five games. The Honduras forward is certainly a player that is at the required age to come in and have that instant impact we are all crying out for and Greek journalist, Giannis Chorianopoulos, has given his take on the player after being asked by the Celtic faithful.

This looks and sounds like a Jota replacement to me and is exactly the type of attacking profile that we need. It has been sorely missed since the beginning of the season and those packed defences have been getting away with murder because we don’t have that player that can take men on and cause problems in the final third.

This one has promise…

I'm a Garngad Bhoy through and through. My first ever Celtic game was a friendly against Italian side Parma at Celtic Park, in 2002. Currently a student of English Literature and Education at the University of Strathclyde for my sins. Favourite game would be a toss up between beating Manchester United with that Naka freekick, or the game against the Oldco when Hesselink scored in the dying seconds. I'm still convinced Cal Mac is wasted playing that far back.
