Gustaf Lagerbielke has agreed a deal to sign for FC Twente. The 24-year-old has been the subject of speculation surrounding a summer move with a number of clubs interested in the ex-Elfsborg defender.
Lagerbielke will replace Robin Propper, who was signed by Philippe Clement’s Rangers earlier this window. The player will be looking to get his career back on track after a disappointing campaign last year.
As reported by Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph, Lagerbielke is in The Netherlands to agree a switch to Twente.

Celtic are in the market for a left sided central defender to partner Cameron Carter-Vickers with Lagerbielke clearly not in Brendan’s plans for the new season. Stephen Welsh and Nawrocki are ahead of Lagerbielke with CCV and Liam Scales were the preferred pairing for Rodgers as Celtic won League and Scottish Cup Double.
You would imagine that the club would have preferred a permanent deal that would see Celtic recoup some of the cash that they paid to Elfsborg last summer. However, a loan deal gets Lagerbielke playing regularly and sees his wages being covered by the Dutch side then there are benefits to that too.
