Celtic’s reward for knocking theRangers out of the SWPL Cup at the quarter final stages yesterday is a semi-final tie against Hibs on 14 November at Forthbank Stadium in Stirling. In the other semi-final Glasgow City will play Spartans, with the current SWPL1 Champions heavy favourites to progress to the final.
Assuming there’s no giant killing in the other game Celtic will have to win the SWPL Cup the hard way having beaten theRangers at Murray Park in the quarter finals. Hibs and probably Glasgow City are standing in Kelly Clark’s way before the Celtic captain can lift the cup but with this Celtic side nothing appears to be impossible.
Before that though there are important league games to deal with starting with a trip through o Edinburgh to face Hearts in midweek and then it’s the second Sunday in a row meeting with theRangers – this time at home at the Penny Cars Stadium in Airdrie and the Celtic Support should get along and roar on Fran Alonso’s exciting young side looking for a fifth straight win over theRangers.
Oh, here is the goal that got Celtic through to the semi-finals and knocked the stuffing out of theRangers. “Whit’s the Goalie daein, Tom????” Delightful…COYGIG!
We have drawn against Hibs in the semi-finals of the League Cup!
