Scott Brown has taken a dig at the Kilmarnock pitch in the wake of the 3-1 victory on Wednesday night. Goals from Odsonne Edouard, Leigh Griffiths and Christopher Jullien sealed the three points for Neil Lennon’s side on what was a difficult away fixture.
Despite the victory, Brown slammed the embarrassing attempts of Killie to disguise the fact that they had brought the pitch in to try and hamper the Champions. However, they had failed to remove the old lines meaning it was blatantly obvious that this is what they had done.
“Kilmarnock made the pitch tighter but you can still see the old lines.
“If you’re going to do that then you have to do it properly so it doesn’t look bad on TV or to the fans.
“There are people down in England watching that game and it makes us look bad.”
Brown paid tribute to Rugby Park as a stadium as well as the home supports, who give the Ayrshire side a vocal backing; however, with the game on Sky Sports, he hoped that the Killie chiefs would recognise their amateur oversight.
“We need to try and make the game look as good as we possibly can up here, so people are impressed when they come up here.
“Their stadium is brilliant and they have good fans as well.
“But they need to do the small things which will improve the game up here.”
Brown, who was speaking to Celtic TV, hit the nail on the head regarding the lines but more embarrassing is the fact that we have plastic pitches in our top flight.
