“Have you lost your minds?” Board the problem, not Rodgers argues Bob

Anger at the Celtic Board is mounting as this season unravels with Celtic now in second place in the Scottish Premiership, badly out of sorts on the park, with a manager who seems unable to contemplate changing a system that clearly is not working and a fanbase who are well aware of how we got here and who is to blame.

An article on The Celtic Star yesterday, titled Celtic’s Gathering Storm,  looked at Brendan Rodgers’ role in this mess and suggested that he wouldn’t stay around of Celtic lost the league – he actually promised the support on the steps of Celtic Park last June that he’d be back in the same spot come May celebrating another title win. He had after all just taken over a treble winning squad.

One of the comments on that article from a chap called Bob, reckons that our writer, indeed The Celtic Star as a whole, has lost our minds and didn’t want to hear about Rodgers being the problem but wanted to highlight the real reason we are in this mess and it’s according to Bob, down Lawwell & Co in the Celtic Boardroom.

The Celtic Star is a site for Celtic supporters and we always welcome supporter input and allow everyone to express their views provided that they are within the scope of what is publishable. Bob was well supported in his reply in our comments section, so to do his contribution justice – and his view is clearly shared by many supporters – we thought we’d publish it as an article in it’s own right.

So here’s what Bob had to say in reply Just an Ordinary Bhoy’s article Celtic’s Gathering Storm

My god, talk about short memories, have you lost your minds? Sack Rodgers? He wasn’t properly backed in January never mind last summer! Lawwell & Co are going out of their way to shaft him (as he wasn’t THEIR man, he wasn’t THEIR pick for the managerial role). Rodgers is being set-up to fail, to help cover for their incompetence, to have him removed in order to put in place another ‘YES Man’, that won’t rock the boat and does what he’s told!

What about Sack the Board, where are the calls to have Liewell & Co removed, for they are the root cause of all of this sudden upheaval? Lawwell is only in the door a year and look what’s happening. They’ve deliberately gone out of their way too caused division among the fanbase by stoking the fire, they had the Green Brigade removed, and now they are using Rodgers as a scapegoat to protect themselves and their money hoarding operation from within Celtic Park, to line their pockets and starve us of any sort of success on the European front.

Our pitch looks like a cow-field, our recruitment department is full of wasters, we have a youth academy that doesn’t work (hasn’t worked in years) but systematically destroys the fragile careers of any aspiring Celtic first team teenager, we’ve £70 million (or more) in the bank, with an additional £15 million line of credit and they claim they can’t afford to buy players.

And while all this is going on, we have a board simultaneously handing themselves millions in pay rises, just to stay a hair breath ahead of Newco, seriously but what the hell? Open you eyes, the board is the problem, not Rodgers. Lawwell & Co are going out of their way to steal your hard-earned cash every year, in order to manufacture a false sense of competitiveness with our city rivals, to prop them up and push them on, to save them and the SPFL long term, in order to negotiate rubbish sponsorship deals that have us the laughing stock of European football.

Do you remember when Lawwell & Co (along with Lennon), screwed us over with the 10 in-a-row and when the fans righty kicked up a storm, they attacked us, the fanbase, with the following actions.

The Board:

Celtic fans backed us during a global pandemic, we flushed £35 million down the toilet and blew the 10IAR, we the board erected barricades, we the board ignored you and we the board used the blue nose tainted elements of the British media to insult and labelled our fanbase (Celtic fans) with untrue, deceitful slurs of ‘entitled’, ‘mob’, ‘scum’ & ‘dirt’, yet, after all that, faithfully blind as they are, they still came back for more of the same, renewing in their thousands? Beggars belief, they cant see the woods for the trees when it comes to this club. you want Champions League fitba, aye right, we’re downsizing! now shut up & give us your money, idiots.

Lawwell, The enemy within, Celtic’s keyser soze

1. He constantly interfered with the recruitment process
2. He continuously undermined managers to pursue his own agenda
3. He flushed millions on project players and journeymen
4. He held back on money needed for European qualifiers
5. He and the board have regressed Celtic to a joke and a laughing stock of European football, to the point we’ve become the whipping boys for Europe’s smaller clubs
6. Under his mismanagement, we’ve only qualified for the Champions league twice in the last eight years
7. Under his mismanagement we’ve lost out on £280 million of much needed champion’s league revenue
8. Under his mismanagement he and the board flushed £35 million down the toilet, blown the 10iar & called it progress
9. Under his mismanagement, theRangers have been resurrected to save the ‘old firm’ brand & the long-term financial future of the SPFL.

  1. Got to agree with most of what Bob has said,we must remove the Lawwell’s and the scouting team at the end of the season. The main culprit is the absentee landlord Desmond who has no interest except to make profit and keep the share price high, it would take something like season ticket holders not buying seats to make him sell up do not see this happening, but not buying European packages would be a start if they do not invest in decent player’s in the summer.

    • The whole board are rotten to the core a owner who would rather play golf than attend the games and a manager who won’t change his style of play and players not fit enough to wear the jersey need a new scouting team in and a manager who knows how to play attacking football time for the supporters to start protesting boycott th3 ridiculous prices of the crap food they sell at games and get liewell out of the club hail hail support the the team

      • I agree with Bob 100%. Peter Lawwel is the root problem I won’t be renewing my seasonticket while he’s still involved. Thought we’d seen back of him couple years ago things going well he returns 12 months later its a shitshow. Celtic won’t get another penny from me whilst he’s involved at my club

        • Bob is spot on, Liewell has taken us backward since his return.
Would defo keep BR but he has to change the way we play and i sure hope he can now see Palma is a dud
          and Kuhn not much better
Jamsie would be better than those 2

        • Rogers seems clueless, the board are gutless, and if they don’t get back on track the end of the season will be trophyless, anyone with ambition will jump while they can and the fans will start next season team less………….so shortsighted by the board who should understand speculate on players to accumulate a team of quality, the payout would be better finance from the European pot.

    • Well said ANDY BOY 67 Lawell is an employee he obeys his master ,a shrewd business man who knows to protect the USP of the “OLD FIRM ” , roll up roll up see the circus ….

    • Disappointed in the manager, he’s taken a team of winners and made them crap. That said, I agree with Bob. Though the manager shouldn’t really need loads of money. He needs to adapt his thinking rather than ‘convert’ the players. If Dermot is still calling the shots, he needs to freshen up this Board, get rid of both the Chairman and his son, recruit proper coaches and pay them well.

      • Let’s be honest! It’s not Peter lawells fault at all, this downturn is purely down to man management skills! Rodgers should have been able to take this current team to the title this year, hampered by injury’s the back up players are not cutting it, that’s not on Peter Lawell that was on his son! but he’s going or away so that’s a step in the right direction, time for Rodgers to step up and justify the big wages 🍀

    • It’s been proven in the past (Kelly’s & whites) that family ties within the club set up, are only there for 1 thing and 1 thing only. They’re there to look after their own and bleed the club of as much money as they possibly can. When you think back to Willie haughey, Brian dempsey and Fergus mccann, they were men of honour .I know Fergus made a tidy profit, but at least he put his own money in when we were on our knees. Haughey & Dempsey left with their reputions intact and are welcomed back to celtic Park anytime. The same can’t be said of the aforementioned. The board needs a complete overhaul. Peter lawell should never have been back at parkhead after he retired. While I admit he dine some fantastic work, he was also guilty of costing the club millions. I dint know what actions we as fans can do, but surely it’s time now for change.

    • Absolutely agree – I’ve been going to Paradise since 1980, and seen my fair share of highs and lows…I remember the old board (who we got rid of, eventually)…Lawell would do well to remember that we are used to long term battles of attrition…it’s in our blood, like no other fans have, and we will have our say and we will have our Club back…c’mon Bhoys…one thing I know for definite, is that Our People are best when our backs are against the wall!…Our Day Will Come ☘ 🍀 ☘!!!

    • Bob may well be right for all I know but there is no evidence for most of the charges he makes. For instance , how does he know Lawwell ” constantly undermined managers to pursue his own agenda”? Many more examples like this, many accusations which I’ve heard many times but which are never backed up by hard facts. If he has inside information to prove his case, let’s hear it.

      • Absolutely John. Everyone seems to know everything that goes on inside Celtic Park.
        Brendan was promised x amount.
        Lawwell interferes with recruitment.
Lawwell has cost the club millions. Etc.Etc.Etc.
You cannot get away from the fact, Rodgers inherited a treble winning side, and screwed it up. Injuries? Okay, but 9 of the players whi couldn’t beat Kilmarnock were first chiices last year. Not one player has progressed through Rodgers, in fact the opposite.
Rodgers is the by far the biggest culprit here. My main beef with the board is that they brought him back.

    • Agree 100%,as long as the name Lawell is associated with OUR club we will be in the european wilderness forever more, and let’s not forget Dermot Desmond in this sorry mess.

  2. Ofcourse Bob is correct in most if not all of that I agree sacking the gaffer won’t fix our biggest problem as a club which is a board that’s far too risk averse and far too happy to do just enough to win domestically..

The scouting department needs ripped out I said they’re risk averse and they are when it comes to the more expensive players but the money we’ve spent has been spent so badly I’m all for buy low sell high but a team needs a core of 4 or 5 older players in my opinion for that to work properly asking young foreigners to take all the pressure it is to win every game here just isn’t working and its a terrible plan anyway without the dearer/older players..

    My tuppence worth troops HH

  3. Charles Antony Taylor on

Got to agree, the one constant when things go wrong is PL. DD has got to step in now or all is lost

  4. Rodger’s isn’t THE problem but is a huge part of it.The guy is a shadow of the coach that he was years ago.He can’t put out teams that turn over the financially strapped opposition despite the advantages he has.Do the players look as though they would run into brick walls for him? Are the punters rocking the stands? Has he brought back the thunder? He will be gone in the summer and the players know it,that’s why they’ve been signing long term contacts. They’re hoping that the new guy will be a substantial improvement on what we’re witnessing under BR.He’s even talking about back and sideways passing when we know that’s always been his instructions with his Celtic teams(under the guise of keeping possession). The board won’t be gone anytime soon so to get a new, hungry coaching and recruitment team in would be my priority.

    • Garry Gallagher on

To let Brendan Rodgers off scot-free is fundamentally wrong.
The two Rangers games aside, our form against Scottish Premiership dross , has been nothing short of diabolical.
      The team are clueless.
      Badly set-up.
      Easy to play against.
Not creating sufficiently, and now allowing opposing teams too many opportunities on our goal.
His mis-management of Nawrocki, Lagerbeilke and others has been damming.
He looks utterly lost without Chris Davies.
      Rodgers is a bust flush.
      Trust me
He’s got to carry the can

    • Elite level manager my arse.
Hes thrown everyone under the bus
Hatate gets undermined from day one and is replaced by Turnbull!
Kwon played in a friendly at parkhead and was never seen again.
Lagerbielke played at Ibrox where we won and was deemed thereafter to be not good enough.
His only appearance being in the Champions league where he secured our first win in 10 years at home.
Kyogo and Maeda both shadows of their former self’s as is ORiley.
Scales was a couple of days away from leaving on a free to Aberdeen then injuries means he stays and next thing he’s Beckenbauer
Brings in Philips who was a disaster
I could go on for long enough to be fair
Ange proved if you have a proper manager in place who can properly assess his squad and set it up to his style of play then no cnut mentions the board or the Lawells.
Somehow a guy who left us in the lurch mid season is now being shafted by the board
      Really
Outwitted by McInnes 3 times now
His team are full of free transfers ffs
Points dropped at home to St Johnstone and Motherwell!
But we’re complaining about not spending enough money
      Rodgers salivating over Kuhn
Over 3 mill spent and has shown next to nothing thus far
His man no doubt about it .
Left Leicester with over 100 Mill of players out of contract last season!
Mckay came into Lawells job and signed a host of good players.
Unfortunately most of them have left for peanuts because the contracts were flawed.
Mckay got sacked when it came to light and thereafter the players triggered their get out clauses.
We are unfortunately a stepping stone for most talented football players.
If you look at the last published accounts it clearly tells you that the club has a transfer strategy and in their view it is a success.
This will not change iam afraid.
I think that it suits the board to have a whipping boy as it does the manager.
I’d remove the Lawells from the club and see if it changes things.
The only thing it will change imo is the focus being switched to a piss poor football department.
Not one of them deserve to be at Celtic

  5. Lawell never left Celtic that’s why the last CEO left and this yes man Nicholson was put in by lawell and Desmond the fans are just taken for granted by the club and to weak to call them out. Nothing will change unless the top tier of the stands start getting covered again because no one is paying to watch this tripe so called football at present it’s the fans choice.

    • Problem with that is that there are many thousands on the waiting list.
Not buying Euro packages and not buying the yearly new 3 strips would be a great start.
I can t get to the games now however I buy lots of merchandise for younger family members and friends, as long as Peter Lawell is at our club I will not spend a penny more.

    • Bob is correct. I said this a few years ago and I was slated for it. I hate to say it but I was correct and so is Bob

    • Same old tactics passing the ball sideways, Backward, going nowhere.
Trying to play through packed defenses week after week which anyone can see is not working. Awful to watch.
For all possession they have they are creating nothing .
Why employ tactics like that when it fails week in and week out .

  6. Totally agree the only time you hear from “someone”is when they need our cash!
Lawwell is at the root of our problems that is so obvious.
Nicholson the silent man is just peters apprentice and running celtic to Peters letter.
Jobs for the boys? It’s a Joke.
Even at the last agm when Peter again lied to shareholders he hadn’t read the 5WA you would be as well calling it the 6WA Peters hands are all over it.
We bring in managers and give them the ready made coaching team.
When was the last time we could rely on a set piece even something like a corner is a shambles and that’s not just this season.

  7. Yes you are right but their is one part of our support that is flying banners showing things that reflect on Celtic support which is not all our thinking Cektic board have gave those people a platform they know they have it they are there to support Celtic but to fly a flag that insults one off our players is disgraceful I think majority of thees Celtic supporters in the curved stand are realising this thus only one or two scattered Palestinian flags raised and only at times abda us one of Celtic family he loves Celtic but people in his homeland are asking why you want to play for that club the damage is done yes the players are with abda its not the board that yes disrespecting our player we have one so many leagues trophies they have kept our club in a good financial state where other clubs have died even now we aren’t begging board members for money yes they are nit going to spend big they won’t go over the wage budget we donr that and it won us nothing curve support opened up something we should never get involved with your there to support Celtic who could foreseen top players injuries but some supporters flying a Palestinian flags yes I’d say that’s and other things has us in this mini slump where we gave to stop showing our displeasure if a player misses a pass the ball isnt going our Kilmarnock were breaking up by going down with nothing its bad and frustrates supporters yes killiebrreated ut like a win but Celtic fave them that win going for more goals 1 up sit back they have to attack you then our players get the space in Kilmarnock Box Celtic were comfortable at 1-0 but supporters kept pushing them now instead of goal average we gave thrown away two points every game us the same we attack attack opposition sit in park the bus and wait for free kicks goalkeepers long punts into our box then from our goalie play from the back where two of they’re players can stop the ball going forward at pace abda what a miss we are so predictable it’s like watching a replay we go a goal up why all out attack we have fast forwards get the ball to them instead of putting ourselves under pressure playing tit tap from the back we haven’t the players for that get into opposition half win it from there our backs are to narrow giving there wingers space to get up and win throw ins fet our backs to engage further up khun palma lose so much possession they are a hindering our good work get into the Ball into the palma has to be a team player

    • the real Anton Rogan on

Try a comma or full stop or even take a breath.

I stopped reading your Zionist propaganda after the first line

  8. For me, all aspects of the club are not working individually and are not joined up. Board have no strategy or ambition. Manager whose style of play is awful, shocking game management and his team selections are utterly bizarre. Coaches who don’t seem to make players better in any facet of the game (passing, taking a man on, be brave on the ball and so physically and mentally weak). Players, most of whom should be nowhere near a Celtic jersey.
We need a complete overhaul in the summer with new blood in the board (remove Peter Lawwell, new CEO who is not a Lawwell poodle), a new progressive manager who has a track record of attacking football and physicality is key, new coaches who can actually coach, much higher quality of players. This will take time but will pay dividends in the near time.

  9. 100% Bob speaks my language when it comes to liewell and that board of spongers. As for Dermot Desmond great businessman as far as I’m concerned he got lucky with the city of London airport. Any great businessman wouldn’t have a charlatan like liewell in charge of one of the biggest clubs in the world continually losing hundreds of millions in CL money because of dodgy cheap transfer deals.

  10. Bob is spot on. I agree with everything he’s said. The only point I’d make is although i was in favour of Brendan coming back(it was a no brainer) and have given him the benefit of the doubt we have to start looking at the teams performances. Again we all know he hasn’t been backed in the transfer market but he inherited a treble winning side. The undertaker across the city hasn’t had money either (as they haven’t got any) and at least he’s getting a tune out the dark side. That’s the most galling thing for me. The Rangers aren’t even that good they’re just steady and grinding results allbeit with the aid of weekly penalties.

  11. Bob has lost his marbles.
Rodgers would reduce the greatest players to mediocre with his playing style.
Yes the board are a serious issue, they re-employed Rodgers, Rodgers has reduced the efficiency of the team by 50%.
So it would not matter what type of money the board spent on players.
Rodgers has ruined the team, boring slow negative play.
Just look at every corner or free kick, we wait for O’Riley to get there to take them, stops play dead and opposition get into defensive positions.
Same ar throw it’s, we wai for the full back to get there, opposition can easily mark us.
Hart gets the majority of passes, Kyogo gets little as the ball goes backwards constantly, I have never seen Celtic play so many 70 yard pass backs to our keeper.
Under Ange our keeper seldom seen the ball, we created chances, put the ball in the net and kept going.
So Bob get the blinkers off, Rodgers had the invincibles but where was the challenge from, where was the pressure, there was none.
Gerrard came along put in a tiny effort and Rodgers ran away, he left behind a team in decline, they played the same boring pass back football, Lennon came in and finished what Rodgers had started.
Neither Rodgers or Lennon had the ability to change.
    The 10iar was lost.
Ange came in and showed how to win matches, how to create chances, how to put opposition under pressure with fast moving play, how to kerp going and challenging.
Rodgers is back and so is the doom and gloom.
This is the worst style of football ever played at Celtic park, Ridgers is responsible & accountable.
Bob if you expect anything from Rodgers, you belong in the old Lennox Castle, it had many people who had serious issues, you would be at home there.
I expect complete failure from Rodgers, he should not be anywhere near Celtic, The Board can leave on the same minibus As Rodgers and his coaching team.
None of them could fill a bath, the plug would be out and the tap left on slow flow, just the way they are running the team BOB.
By the way, I always thought Bob was a Goldfish 😜

  12. No watmy Rodgers would let lawell(Peter) interfere with football yes the pitch is a disgrace nmbut we can’t go on giving opposition we were 1 up in thalassemia three lame age games and attack attack ourbmidfield are doing more running than they should they looked out on there feet after 70 mins yes we are short of players but when we are one up to keep putting forwards on one midfielder was introduced should have been two we are winning and to allow our self to be put under pressure from our on goalkeeper been told don’t kick the ball into opposition halve instead he throws it out to a player that is under pressure then it’s nerve racking get the ball up the park and win it from there this passing from the backs is alright when opposition are sitting back when no score but when your 1 up and opposition are putting are pressing get the ball away Joe Hart is not a midfielder he is goal keeper a good one keeping ball out the net but to have him to nake precise passes is a big tacticle mistakes our trouble starts there our pitch our our goalkeeper to passvto players been pressed we haven’t got players for that midfielders are missing there intended targets and Rodgers has our goal keeper having to make so many important passes come on Brendan not on we get three points for 1 goal win supporters were thinking of goal average tes let our players get better condition for nocking ball boot outside and some time in our own area I would like to know why is our pitch in such a bad way is our green keepers not upto it are the board taking it for granted spend £1,000,000 at that’s can’t be turf or soil is the ground getting enough sunlight playing on it now once a week so it’s not wear and tear something I Hooe we are looking into cause without good level surface football the Celtic way is not a winner we play motherwell at firpark on Sunday for me Celtic park pitch should look like but will it be rolled cut for good fast passing football I doubt it that’s motherwells choice Celtic should have that choice in there on pitch I know fir park us more open for the sunlight it’s a big part of of the we we want our team to play so why we spend money on good players and expect them to play on sub standered pitch

    • Jack your’e right, a goal up with a couple of minutes to go.
We have several Killie players pressing our defenders who
instead of just clearing it keep trying three yard passes in
our own 18 yard box suicidial football when only a goal in
      front.

  13. All valid points Bob raised, but unfortunately as a support we allowed that ship to sail when nothing was put in place, when the confirmation of the lawwell return was announced?
Lawwell should never have been allowed to return to the club in any form officially, as still remains a traitor, in my eyes anyway for his handling of the 10iar season alone, and this without his many failings beforehand also imo?
Currently doing a lot of crying over spilt milk within our support, where there is only one reality to deal with, and that’s the here and now?
The unanswered questions still remains, as to just how much involvement did Rodgers have within in whole recruitment process?
The next question is can Rodgers actually get anything from this team, to still win the league and cup double?
I personally no longer believe he can, and his own decision making has been generally woeful, only to match his tactical approach along with the style of play. Throw in turning decent football players into looking like pub players presently, then I can’t make a case for Rodgers remaining in his current position imo?
All for turning upon the board and serious questions need to be answered, but the timing remains questionable when a title still needs to be won imo?
Actually believe that the board issues should be addressed come the end of the season, especially with the volcano of many issues is about to erupt imo.
A boycott of season ticket renewals and merchandise could be impacted come the end of the season, but is that really going to resolve anything in the here and now?
Can a spokesperson be sought to tackle the ongoing issues that remains within our support?
That can actually tackle these issues with the board?
An Agm is hardly the solution when so many issues tend to get ignored and no real answers are actually gained, when the timing is mid season and our focus tends to be upon matters within the field of play?
Still believe a strategy of how to approach the unmovable objects within the board, could yield better results on a longer term, than operating like the board in such a scatter gun approach that the current board seems to be working upon currently imo?
Timing I believe could be crucial to ourselves, and don’t believe Rodgers is the right manager for the here and now, and certainly not in the longer term either.
That possibly needs to be the first change needed and he can’t be allowed to be the only casualty either, if indeed change is ever going to occur, regardless of how this season eventually plays out imo?

  14. Jeez Bob yeah the board are culpable but tell me this Bob who da – – – – sanctioned the move for Khun holy mother of God if it was Brendan then who is at fault Bob? I was one a few who welcomed him back because I believed the board screwed him . So tell me Bob would you go back to get screwed again if you were not guaranteed funds and support ? Like Jose Mourinho he has had his day he is one dimensional will not change his approach and our dear Ange and don’t get me started on him is now finding to his cost in the PL your philosophy and ways to play the game are well and good but when your sussed your f- – – – -.
Rangers needed a kick up the arse they got it with the new manager let’s not kid ourselves a guy who has got them to the top of their Europa League group against decent teams. We get possibly the easiest CL group we have ever had and the less said about that the better.
Brendan’s European record is atrocious do you honestly believe Bob if he was given money he would improve us? Again a guy walked into a Rangers team in disarray in a short space of time has them top of the league and further in Europe than Celtic have been in the last decade . What does that tell you Bob.
Take it from me we will lose at Motherwell on Sunday and away to hearts. Bob suck it in the tide has turned yes our board are culpable and when the Rangers board get the CL extra money they will support the manager . At this moment I could not trust BR to bring in the players we need because the current team he has should be more than able to win the SPL it’s down to him when we don’t not the board .
I’m also sick to the teeth of the Abada situation I empathise with the scenario but let’s not kid ourselves what is going on is wrong NEIL LENNNON took more stick stayed professional when playing for Northern Ireland death threats physical abuse standing for the national anthem dont get me started on that one Bob.

  15. Patrick Cullen on

in the summer the recruitment team brought in 8/10 new players ,not worth there salt, jan window BRENDAN RODGERS told them we needed 4 experenced players , WHAT DID WE GET , MORE MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN,this must stop, over to you DERMOT H H

  16. Yes our boards a bit like all top businesses instead of doing something to stop it from happening they wait till its to late I’m not on about January transfers I’m on about summer one your in champions league new manager new style of play spend big on three four players good season professional we are in a small league where two teams go for win nothing else will count but we have a champion league biggest league where only the best in Europe are in that would attract players not only young hopeful players but good players sitting on some teams bench player that will not panic if ball is passed to him and will tell ones that will I’m sorry callum is trying and doing to much he was out on his feet against Kilmarnock in last ten minutes we have midfielders on bench apart from bernardo who’s form dipped its happens with young prospects now they are not playing against world class players it’s spl season professional get there body in the way a bumb at the right time but so come Rodgers get these young legs on the park and there movement will tire the opposition players come off if there tired no disgrace they have done there part get new players on pitch we are leading 1-0 and are players in the midfield that are not getting back when we are losing possession trying for goals instead off holding possession our midfield needs a rest we are leading not pushing for more palma has to get serious not all about him good deliverer off the ball when he gets it in after showboating media most hard working and important player yes crosses are wayward but trying to cross moving ball that’s bouncing in poor pitch, look at shots that are going sailing over the bar I’m sorry Rodgers has to use his sqaud engine room is exactly that box to box we played two on sat we got goal but these two players had to keep chasing goals they were not doing the defence side of there job and starting moves yes they have markers but the have to get more involved at the right times 80 minutes gone the two in engine room legs were gone O’Riley is not a 90minute man so we had a Young midfielder good on ball but used to refs that stick to the laws no matter what team you play for unlawful tackle from the back not Beaton he has is own rule where Celtic is concerned but we no this why attack attack why our midfielders having to work so hard for 90 minutes when we have subtitles used to be the hard bits done getting goal killie had chances but only at set pieces there goal poor marking lost possession and VAR looking at it was laughable take mire than one match to sort it maybe need to stop Joe Hart as our main passer not Joe’s fault

  17. No way Rodgers would let lawell(Peter) interfere with football yes the pitch is a disgrace nmbut we can’t go on giving opposition we were 1 up in thalassemia three lame age games and attack attack ourbmidfield are doing more running than they should they looked out on there feet after 70 mins yes we are short of players but when we are one up to keep putting forwards on one midfielder was introduced should have been two we are winning and to allow our self to be put under pressure from our on goalkeeper been told don’t kick the ball into opposition halve instead he throws it out to a player that is under pressure then it’s nerve racking get the ball up the park and win it from there this passing from the backs is alright when opposition are sitting back when no score but when your 1 up and opposition are putting are pressing get the ball away Joe Hart is not a midfielder he is goal keeper a good one keeping ball out the net but to have him to nake precise passes is a big tacticle mistakes our trouble starts there our pitch our our goalkeeper to passvto players been pressed we haven’t got players for that midfielders are missing there intended targets and Rodgers has our goal keeper having to make so many important passes come on Brendan not on we get three points for 1 goal win supporters were thinking of goal average tes let our players get better condition for nocking ball boot outside and some time in our own area I would like to know why is our pitch in such a bad way is our green keepers not upto it are the board taking it for granted spend £1,000,000 at that’s can’t be turf or soil is the ground getting enough sunlight playing on it now once a week so it’s not wear and tear something I Hooe we are looking into cause without good level surface football the Celtic way is not a winner we play motherwell at firpark on Sunday for me Celtic park pitch should look like but will it be rolled cut for good fast passing football I doubt it that’s motherwells choice Celtic should have that choice in there on pitch I know fir park us more open for the sunlight it’s a big part of of the we we want our team to play so why we spend money on good players and expect them to play on sub standered pitch

    • The projects the board bring in are NOT for the benefit of the football team first and foremost, its for profit plain and simple. The board undermine the football. If a project actually works our, hes sold and replaced with another project which sets the team back. But they care more about profit than the football and that’s why we never progress……I am sick of hearing its a good business model. How about a progressive FOOTBALL model! This current situation needn’t have happened. Let the manager choose his players, back him with money – you’ll get it back in CL money!! Instead, more punts that put us at risk and here we are…2nd!! Well done to the business men.

  18. Mr John Connor on

You should have no negativity within the dressing room, therefore Abada should have been told to away from Parkhead until the situation is solved, can’t see it happening. How much time was wasted by Rodger talking to the media on this subject? Maybe Bob could solve it!!!
    John Hail Haill

  19. Right, here’s the plan of action my fellow Celts. Someone, anyone with any Link’s to the Green Brigade, info them of Bob’s artical. At the next match we want a big banner drapped across the North Curve that reads ” We’re All Bob”, get T-shirts printed too, it’s war and Bob is our leader

  20. Nail on the head Bob.
The Club is being strangled from within; everything about the matchday experience, from the team on the park to the fabric of the ground, is shabby and done on the cheap. Support being rinsed by North British pale stale males.
