Celtic Football Club’s Irish heritage has provided many wonderful ballads, which are sung by the support. However, outside of the Irish realm, those folk music traditions have led to many great songs being written solely about the football club.

I launched a poll to investigate people’s thoughts on this. The Coronation Cup Song, Celtic On the Ball, I’m Coming Home Glasgow Celtic, Four Leaf Clover, Hampden in the Sun, John Thomson Song and Celtic That’s The Team For Me etc. were all eliminated. The last four remaining were:

Willie Maley, Celtic Symphony, The Celtic Song and World Club Championship Song. I’ve put these four great Celtic anthems into a Twitter poll to find a winner.

It’s a wonderful musical tradition that we have at Celtic, totally unique through our Irish roots. Have your say on my Twitter poll below:

INVINCIBLE by Matt Corr

The Celtic Star’s very own Matt Corr – who you may also know as a Tour Guide at Celtic Park – publishes his first Celtic book, titled INVINCIBLE – early next month. This beautiful hardback book will be the definitive story of Celtic’s magical2016-17 season – it truly is wonderful, a real joy to read, and brilliantly written by Matt.

If you have been reading Matt’s regular contributions on The Celtic Star or indeed in the Matchday Programme or in the Celtic View you will know just how talented a Celtic writer he is. The book is published by The Celtic Star and you can pre-order below.
