Last night Ange Postecoglou and his charges maintained their seven point gap at the top of the league against Motherwell at Fir Park. After a dogged display by the home side and some tired looking football from the Hoops, we got over the line leaving just Ross County at home before we break from club football for a bit.

Whilst the Bhoys were taking care of business against Stevie Hammell’s men, our main rivals for the title, theRangers were hosting Robbie Neilson’s Hearts at Ibrox. A few amongst the support were hoping for an even more damaging night to Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s title ambitions. But it was not to be.

Heart of Midlothian very rarely turn up against the Ibrox club and it showed once more last night. As the home side limped to a 1-0 victory, Hearts’ pathetic display was woeful as they rarely tested Allan McGregor’s goal with a shot the whole match. Not that anyone of a Celtic persuasion was that surprised.

One fan brought this up on social media, citing on Twitter that Hearts in the first-half recorded zero attempts on goal in a rather tepid and uninspiring 45 minutes from the Gorgie team.

But it was even worse in the second, as the boys in maroon where almost certainly not ‘the talk of the toon’. Registering just one shot that was wide of the target in the following forty-five, it’s safe to say Neilson and his cohorts couldn’t have done less to win if they’d rolled over and died.

Take a look at the hysterical commentary from this Celtic fan…

You just wait until they come to Parkhead though… it will be far more fiercely contested.
