Celtic may have earned less points than Hearts over the last fifteen fixtures but thankfully that’s not how a league works…

A stat has revealed that Celtic have amassed less points than Hearts over the last fifteen fixtures. That in itself tells you everything you need to know about our poor form these past few months. But fortunately for us that’s not how the league table works. We are currently in first place 13 points and 29 goals better off than the Jam tarts who occupy third spot.

We have amassed more points over the course of the season to put us in our current position. Football is about doing it consistently throughout the season, and although we are in a bit of sticky patch at the moment, we’ve earned the right to be where we currently are.

Granted we need to wake up and as we are rather static at the moment, but we are still in a good position to challenge for and defend the title. Hearts on the other hand are trying to consolidate third place, that’s the difference. Stats most of the time show you details that doesn’t tell the whole story. This is one of those stats.

One stat that Hearts could do with improving is their dreadful record against their big cousins.

Just an Ordinary Bhoy
