Help for Ukraine Update – Amazing donation from Celtic fan as Fourth Lorry leaves for Poland

The Celtic Star is supporting the Tayside and Strathearn Help for Ukraine collecting and sending much needed aid and assistance to Ukrainian families who are now refugees in Poland to to the disgraceful Russian assault on their homeland.

My wife Karen has been volunteering over the past few weekends at the Errol airfield between Perth and Dundee helping to sort out the mountains of local donations that have arrived and get these packaged and ready for onward transportation to Poland in articulated lorries.

Today the fourth lorry left for Poland in what has been an unbelievable effort from all involved and with your help there will be more to follow. Here’s the video of the fully loaded lorry leaving for Poland.

On Sunday we asked for assistance from The Celtic Star readers to help raise funds to keep these lorries on the road and heading to Poland and we’ve been humbled by your generosity so far. Indeed a massive thank you is due to the most recent donation – at the time of writing – from Stevie who donated an incredible £499 on behalf of the Celtic Family. Absolutely awesome and it will be greatly appreciated as indeed will all the other very generous donations that you have made, regardless of the sum.

We actually have actually a real feeling of pride seeing green hearts, Hail Hails, YNWA and mentions of The Celtic Star on the comments left as Celtic supporters have made their donations.

The Tayside and Strathearn Help for Ukraine are attempting to raise £12,000 to spend keeping these lorries travelling to Poland with vital aid donated by families and businesses and everyone involved in organising this are volunteers. There’s certainly plenty o merit in a lorry load and volunteers, perhaps someone could write a song about it?

There are a selection of photographs below that hopefully will give you a flavour of what is happening here to help the Ukrainian refugees with a growing gallant band all donating their time and energies to making this happen. If you can help that would be amazing. Any donation at all will go a long way as we aim to raise £12,000 to keep the lorries moving. So far  the total of donations on the Tayside and Strathearn Help for Ukraine JUST GIVING page is £3639 so we are 30% towards achieving the target already.
