THE CELTIC TWITTER team have aimed a brilliant dig at Rangers through celebrating the club’s newspaper, the Celtic View celebrating its birthday. The club’s official account released the story announcing that the View would return tomorrow, just two weeks before its 55th birthday on August 11. It was back in 1965 that the first issue was recently, on the back of the success of the Shamrock magazine. Now, the View is entering its 55th year and the club took the best opportunity to aim a dig at Rangers.
The hilarious dig, is a slant on the Rangers motto ‘Going for 55′, which has been adopted once again ahead of the new season. The club earlier used their social media to aim another dig at Rangers’ new crest launch by doing a similar stunt with the motto ‘This is our city’.
Celtic will begin the new season on Sunday at home to Hamilton Accies and will be aiming to start with a win as they look to create Scottish footballing history by winning 10IAR. The Celtic View was there for Jock Stein’s 9IAR run in 1974 and will hopefully be there in May when Celtic win Title No.10.
