Holm and Yang are going to be vital players this season

Odin Thiago Holm and Yang Hyun-Jun look like two terrific bits of business by the club this summer. Both of them have only played fleetingly since their arrival but you can just tell they have got something about them.

Both introduced themselves to the Celtic support on Tuesday night and produced a solid display in their second half showing against Athletic club. Brendan Rodgers handed them their competitive debuts on Saturday as they made their bows as substitutes in the 4-2 victory over Ross County that put Celtic three points clear of the summer sensations who lost at Kilmarnock, which of course means that Clyde’s Superscoreboard show will be highly entertaining this evening! No Celtic callers please! Give them the stage.

Holm looks calm and composed on the ball, and can pick a pass. He oozes confidence for one so young, he looks like a player that can reach the very top. It’s early days but sometimes you just know a player has something about them, and Holm certainly does.

The same can be said of Yang. The South Korean looks a very skilful player indeed. He has a great touch and has enough confidence in his ability to take players on, which he can do no problem at all. He looks like he’s going to be a crowd pleaser, a real entertainer.

I expect both players to contribute more in the coming season. Yes it’s early days, but the signs are promising. It looks like our scouting network have yet again unearthed a couple of gems.

  1. Yes holm is class.they always seemed to have space and time where they have none its all to yo do with first touch away from opponent and quick pass never looks rushed but its the speed that makes it look easy good in tackle again not diving in picks hs moment id have him pushing for McGregor place he never puts a bad pass in but always forward look at taylor first touch poor rushes pass first touch is so important thats why so many of his passes hgoes backwards to srarfelt or who he makes bad touch then we are under pressure we will get run over in europe we dont get basics right holm you c it with all very good players the first touch makes your mind up meant or forced pass

  2. Holm arrived under the radar when the focus was on the Korean guys, but, the focus should have been on this guy. One of his peculiar talents is to sneak in and steal ball off someone without them realising they’ve lost it.
