Celtic secured a point on the road in the UEFA Champions League after holding Atalanta to a 0-0 draw in Bergamo. The Scottish Champions were resilient in defence as they ensured that the free-scoring Serie A were held at bay as Brendan Rodgers’ side took a point back to Glasgow.
The result now means that Celtic have four points after three games, something that puts the Celts about Atletico Madrid and AC Milan. It also puts Celtic above their next four opponents – RB Leipzig (0 points), Club Brugge (3 points), Dinamo Zagreb (4 points) and Young Boys (0 points).
RB Leipzig 0 Liverpool 1
The German side faced a difficult task of playing Arne Slot’s Liverpool at home. The visitors had the best of the chances and had a Darwin Nunez strike to show for their toils at half time. However, with Arsenal at the weekend, The Reds decided to shore up with a view to continuing their perfect start to the competition.
Leipzig did actually have the ball in the net twice through Loïs Openda but both strikes were disallowed for offsides in either half. Although, the Germans only produced an xG of around 1 with the visitors producing an xG closer to 3.

Milan 3 Club Brugge 1
Milan took the lead through Christian Pulisic. Brugge lost Raphael Onyedika to a red for a studs-up challenge but the ten men rallied and equalised through Sabbe. AC Milan utilised their bench and two substitutes – Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze – each set up Tijjani Reijnders as the Rossoneri scored twice in quick succession to earn the victory.

RB Salzburg 0 Dinamo Zagreb 2
The Croatian side were second best in the first half hour but grew into the game and fashioned chances before the interval. After the break, Zagreb scored and gave themselves something to hold onto. They were then given a boost as Salzburg went down to ten men after their keeper was sent off, allowing Zagreb to take a second goal and escape Austria with three points.

Young Boys 0 Inter 1
The Swiss side were left gutted as a late Marcus Thuram goal sealed the three points for Simeone Inzaghi’s team. Young Boys, who sacked their manager earlier this month, are toiling in the league but made the Finalists from 2023 sweat in Berne. The stats look pretty even and it looks as if YB have gone for it. Alas, they now sit second bottom in the table.

Aston Villa 2 Bologna 0
Unai Emery’s Villa finish MD3 at the top of the Champions League pile after beating Italian side Bologna 2-0 at Villa Park. Goals from John McGinn and Jhon Durán gave the Premier League side three points to continue their impressive start.
