Celtic have been heavily linked with a move for former Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe as a replacement for Neil Lennon in the Celtic dugout. The 43-year-old is now odds on favourite to be the next manager and it would be an ambitious move, considering the esteem that Howe is held in back in England.

Howe is highly regarded as a youth coach that has performed admirably considering the tight restraints at Bournemouth. Despite being relegated last season, which a ghost goal at Villa Park might have avoided, Howe is regarded as one of the top young coaches in the UK.

Howe would be the ideal manager and coach to help Celtic rebuild and refocus after a decade of dominance in the Scottish game. This season looks to be all but over; although that doesn’t mean that the club shouldn’t be resigning themselves to the league ending. The wheels should be in motion to get a new manager, a DOF and a clear out from top to bottom whether at the board room level or on the pitch.
