Incoming Celtic signing Hyeok- Kyu Kwon has split opinion between the supporters, but not regarding his arrival, more his confidence or even arrogance as some perceive it to be.
He was reported to have said, and I quote “I will become the best player in Celtic and go to higher places such as the German Bundesliga or the English Premier League”
I can see why it’s perceived as arrogant, but so what? He must be a young man oozing in confidence to proclaim just that. A player with a ruthless and arrogant streak is something we could do with, especially in the middle of the park.
Sometimes we are dismissive of players of that stature and think they should all be nice and polite, but not everyone is like that and all the talented players have a bit of arrogance about them, it’s part of why they make it far in the game.
Can Hyeok back up his words with action? Let’s hope so, and if he does who cares about his arrogance. As for his desire to move to bigger things? Good. He will have that fire in his belly to succeed and hopefully he does. If he does then everyone’s a winner.
