CELTIC slogged out a dogged 2-1 win over St Mirren in Paisley, coming from behind to beat Jim Goodwin’s side. Two headers from Shane Duffy and James Forrest made the difference as Celtic moved up to second in the table, three points and with a game in hand behind Rangers.
The lacklustre match appeared to be a rotation exercise with the amount of games coming up as well as having no winter break so it is prudent that the manager is taking the schedule into account. However, with the transfer window still open for another fortnight, questions will always be asked regarding signings.
Supporters are eagerly awaiting news of a left back and right winger joining the club as the ten-in-a-row chasers look for a couple new faces but Neil Lennon gave the Daily Record a less than exciting update saying that didn’t know of any update and would be happy with his squad going forward.
“I don’t know, is the answer.
“I’ll speak to Nick and Peter over the next couple of days.
“But like I said but if we don’t do any more business I’m delighted with the squad we’ve got.”
Supporters will know that the latter statement is one that gets rolled out when business is all but concluded for the transfer window. The left wingback position is needing addressed immediately as Taylor looks a bit lost at times. He is a fine player, one that performs well from the deeper role of left back but it is unfair to have a lot of Celtic’s attacking pressure put on his shoulders.
