Celtic star Daizen Maeda has posted an emotional message to Josip Juranovic, stating that he misses the Croatian full-back. The pair struck up a bromance in their year together at the club and it is clear that despite JJ’s move to Union Berlin, they will be going long distance.

Juranovic scored his first goal for his new side as they beat Ajax to reach the Last 16 of the Europa League. Now, Maeda has posted a message on Instagram, sharing Juranovic’s post (which originally said ‘Where are you?’ to Maeda, with the caption ‘I miss you’.

The pair shared a poignant embrace after Croatia eliminated Japan at the World Cup with Juranovic seeking out his Celtic colleague following the cruel penalty shoot out exit.

The Croatian Internationalist joined Celtic from Legia Warsaw in the summer of 2021 for just £2.5m but leaves after making 52 appearances, scoring twice and winning two trophies. It appears that the Bundesliga will be pleased with the acquisition, which was worth around £9m. The high-flying Union will be keen to continue their impressive form as they pose an unlikely assault on the German top flight with a view to breaking Bayern Munich’s monopoly on the game.
